Nizona Japan Marine Collagen Powder (Fish peptide)
What is Collagen?
Collagen is the purest form of natural protein, which is produced by our body, but decreases with age and hence, needs to be ingested as a supplement. Like all proteins, it is formed of amino acids. Collagen contains 18 amino-acids, including 8 out of 9 essential amino-acids.
Why collagen – is it really so important?
Collagen is a natural protein component of the skin that acts like a glue and the main building block for cells, tissues and organs. About a third of the protein content in your body is made up of collagen, which is found in the bones, muscles, and tissues of the organs. Collagen, keratin and elastin gives strength, elasticity and structure to your skin.
The body naturally produces the collagen that it needs, but this production is gradually disrupted as part of the natural aging process. Women produce less collagen than men, and this collagen is lost at a rate of about 1% per year. This means that a woman has naturally lost almost half of the collagen from her skin by the age of 50.
That firm, plump, youthful fullness begins to fade away. Unfortunately, as we age, collagen production slows down drastically and the skin begins to lose its fullness and firmness. Wrinkles and sagging skin is hard to be fixed. So if you consume collagen as an external supplement; the aging process can somewhat be reversed and you can feel your young and beautiful skin.
Where collagen comes from?
Collagen is basically derived from the bones and tissue of animals like cows, fish, chicken, and pigs. But not all collagen is created equal; you need to look into the source of collagen (which animal), as this can determine the effect it will have on your body and its potency – beef and fish are the best. The most effective type of collagen is marine collagen because it’s absorbed up to 1.5 times more efficiently into the body than any other type of collagen.
Types of collagen:
There are 28 types of collagen in the body.
Type I Collagen is the most abundant in our body. It makes up 80% of the dermis layer of our skin. Hence, Type I Collagen is considered to be the key building matrix protein which gives our skin its structure and firmness.
Type II Collagen makes up movable joints, so it is commonly used to treat joint aging and relieve pain associated with arthritis.
Type III Collagen is found in artery walls, skin, intestines and the uterus.
The collagen molecules in their native state are simply too large for our body to absorb efficiently unless they’ve been hydrolyzed.
Nizona Japan Collagen Powder is the hydrolyzed form of collagen which is obtained when collagen fibres are broken down into smaller chains also known as collagen peptides (Short peptides). Nizona Japan deals with only marine collagen which is considered as the most effective type of collagen for our body. This technology was invented and patented by a Japanese company. According to our research it is proved that, collagen peptides do not get digested in the stomach but get directly absorbed in the bloodstream, penetrate and remain in the dermis layer, thus triggering the collagen production in the skin.
Benefits of collagen on our body:
- Collagen minimizes fine lines and wrinkles.
- Collagen improves intestinal integrity by repairing damaged gut lining.
- Collagen improves joint health.
- Collagen improves skin health.
- Collagen promotes hair and nail growth.
- Collagen improves blood sugar regulation.
- Collagen helps in treatment of bed sores also known as pressure ulcers which are more common for old age patients.
- Collagen promotes anti ageing.
- Collagen helps build muscle mass.
Factors that reduce collagen in our body:
We already know that how awful smoking is and also it damages collagen and elastin in your skin and throughout your body. Likewise, stress and pollution also put your body under the damaging oxidative stress. But there are two other factors that are definitely worthy to mention:
High sugar consumption:
A diet high in sugar can cause an accelerated rate of glycation within the body to form AGEs (Advanced Glycation End Products)
Glycation is a process whereby sugar binds with protein in haphazard way. Glycation makes cells stiffer, less flexible and more prone to damage.
Ultraviolet rays:
Exposure to UV light (sunlight) also leads to degradation of collagen. The breakdown of collagen chains means that your skin loses its integrity.
While there is no way to prevent intrinsic ageing and the natural breakdown of collagen as you get older, take every opportunity now to minimise your risk of collagen breakdown by eating a healthy diet, protecting your skin against UV light and of course, by consuming the collagen powder as your food supplement.
